Hey there! We're Majed and Sarah (yes, we're really a couple, and yes, we actually write these articles together). You can call us M&S – like the store, but with better advice and fewer overpriced sandwiches. When you read our stuff here, it's both of us talking to you, probably arguing about who gets to write which part while sharing a protein shake.
Let's be real: We're a couple who's collectively tried every ridiculous diet and fitness trend out there. Sarah was the queen of yo-yo dieting, while Majed was that guy who thought protein shakes counted as a food group. Together, we've spent enough money on gym memberships and “miracle” supplements to buy a small island. (Spoiler alert: None of them worked, and we still don't own an island.)
Here's the thing: We're not your typical #fitspo couple. You won't find us posting those annoying “couples who train together, stay together” gym selfies, or pretending we live on chicken breast and broccoli. And we definitely won't tell you that our relationship is perfect just because we both know how to count macros. (Trust us, we still fight about who ate the last protein bar.)
What you will get is what we wish someone had told us years ago: honest, no-BS advice about health, fitness, and weight loss from two people who've messed up in every way possible so you don't have to. Plus, you get two perspectives for the price of one – how's that for a deal?
Think of us as your slightly fitness-obsessed friends who've made all the mistakes and lived to tell the tales. (You're welcome, by the way.)
Five years ago, we met at a gym (yes, we know, it's cliché as hell). Sarah was trying to figure out how to use a rowing machine backwards, and Majed was that annoying trainer who couldn't resist giving unsolicited advice. Somehow, that turned into coffee, which turned into meal prep dates, which eventually turned into this website.
We realized something funny: Between us, we had tried literally every fitness trend and fad diet out there. Sarah had the “female weight loss journey” perspective, while Majed had the “dude who thought bigger muscles solved everything” angle. Together, we had the perfect storm of what NOT to do in fitness.
That's when Lifawel was born – because two heads are better than one, especially when those heads have made every possible fitness mistake.
Lifawel combines “Life” and “Well” because we believe in living well without the BS. Plus, all the cute couple fitness blog names were taken, and we refused to call it “Swolemates.com” (though we'll admit, we considered it after a few post-workout protein shakes).
We take our combined experience (and mistakes – so many mistakes) and turn them into advice that actual humans can use. No gender stereotypes, no “pink and shrink” women's advice, no “bro science” – just real talk about health and fitness from both perspectives.
Instead, you get:
– His and her takes on what actually works (and what's total garbage)
– Practical advice that doesn't require you to be a genetic superhuman
– Real relationship insights about staying healthy as a couple
– Plenty of sarcasm (because fitness is serious enough already)
Here's what we believe: Getting healthy is hard enough without all the industry BS, and it's even harder when you're trying to do it while maintaining a relationship. We're here to show you that you can get fit without becoming obsessed, eat healthy without becoming boring, and do it all while still having a life (and maybe even a love life).
The No-BS Promise
Everything we write here is:
– Tested by both of us (usually with plenty of bickering)
– Written in actual human language
– Free of couple fitness clichés (mostly)
– Actually useful for real people in real relationships
Who This Is For
This site is for you if:
– You're tired of perfect Instagram fitness couples
– You want real solutions that work in real relationships
– You can handle some tough love (and terrible couple puns)
– You're ready to get healthy without becoming insufferable
Let's Get Started
If you're still reading this, you probably appreciate a couple who keeps it real. Welcome to Lifawel. Let's figure out this health and fitness thing together – with twice the perspective and twice the bad jokes.
Want the real stuff? Sign up for our newsletter. No BS, no spam, just straight talk about getting healthy without sacrificing your relationship (or your sanity).
P.S. Yes, We Actually Read Our Emails
Unlike those fitness influencer couples with their army of assistants, when you email us, it's actually us responding. We might take a day or two because, you know, we're actually practicing what we preach about life balance (and sometimes we're arguing about who has to respond).
